A Legacy of Learning
Bharathiar University was established in 1982 under the Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Act 1 of 1982). It is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The university is named after the famous Tamil poet, Subramania Bharati, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It has been accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The university offers a wide range of academic programs through its affiliated colleges, departments, and centers. With a sprawling campus of over 1000 acres, it provides a conducive environment for learning, research, and innovation. The university has more than 150 affiliated colleges, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Engineering, and Technology.

Admission Process and Requirements
Admissions to various programs are based on merit and entrance examinations. The university conducts entrance tests for postgraduate and research programs. For undergraduate programs, admissions are through the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary marks or equivalent.

- Online Application Starts: January 15, 2024
- Last Date for UG Applications: May 30, 2024
- Last Date for PG Applications: June 15, 2024
- Entrance Exams (PG & Ph.D.): July 10-20, 2024
- Commencement of Classes: August 1, 2024
Eligibility Criteria:
For UG programs, candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with minimum required marks. For PG programs, a relevant bachelor's degree is required. For Ph.D., a master's degree with 55% marks is necessary. Relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government norms.
International students can apply through the Office of International Relations. The university offers hostel facilities for both men and women. Scholarships are available for meritorious and economically weaker students.
